This week on the Blog Hop, we’ve been asked:

Who are your favourite iconic couples in romance literature and why?

Whenever we are asked to name our favourites, I usually have immediate answers. And then I start to think deeper about the question, and I often change my mind. But today I’m going to give you the first three couples that came to mind, without second guessing myself.

Eve Dallas and Roarke (JD Robb’s In Death series)
Full disclosure. I read a couple of these books when they first came out and didn’t quite get them, mostly because of the whole set in the future thing. But then I tried them again and fell in love with the characters, so I basically ignore the futuristic bits and just enjoy the characters. Eve and Roarke are broken people when they first meet, and together they help each other heal. Eve tries so hard to follow the marriage rules, and Roarke learns to live with not being able to protect her like he wants. There’s such great push and pull between them.

Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
I love me a strong, silent hero. Mr. Darcy fits that bill to a T. And I see a lot of myself in Elizabeth – someone who speaks before they think, who can find joy in the ridiculous, and with a self-confidence that can be self-sabotaging, sometimes. The way Jane Austen slowly but surely brings these two opposites together is a masterclass in relationships.

Spenser and Hawk (Robert B. Parkers Spenser series)
The bro-mance between Spenser and Hawk is one of my all-time favourites. I find Spenser’s relationship with Susan a little off-putting at times (she sometimes sounds selfish, and he can be too stoic) but Spenser and Hawk are always great together. They are opposite sides of the same coin – both scarily competent at what they do, but with opposing motives and often contradictory goals. Yet they work together so well they are one of the best partnerships out there.

What about you? What are your favourite iconic relationships? Let me know in the comments, then hop over to PG Forte!

It's that time of year again!

☃🤩 The Promise of Frost 🎅🎄

An adventurous kitten, a curious dog, and a matchmaking eight-year-old guarantee this will be a holiday to remember.

Luca Tannon’s new neighbour is a sexy but surly single dad. Which is all for the best since she’s intent on reclaiming her life after a toxic long-term relationship.

Caleb Frost won’t let anything distract him from ensuring his son’s first Christmas as the child of divorced parents is perfect. And that includes the irritatingly intriguing woman living next door.

Everything is going as planned…until it’s not.

(Single Dad, Christmas/New Years, Neighbours to Lovers, Gender Role Reversal, Steamy, Slow Burn, Open Door. Heroine is 32, Hero is 41)

Dream Under The Hill
Oberon Book 8.0

The Spring Equinox falls in the month that nearly all Native Traditions recognize as being one of Big Winds—big changes.  And big changes have certainly come to Oberon this spring, along with an ancient evil that must finally be laid to rest.

Cara Matthews is a girl with a troubled past and an uncertain future.  The teenage girlfriend of Oberon's newest guru has always looked for love in all the worst places.  And it doesn't get much worse than the Church of Truth, Light and Vision.

Former cop Liam McKnight could have told her that, but he's infiltrated the cult in hopes of discovering some clue to the whereabouts of his own missing family members, and he can't jeopardize his mission—not even for her.

In a month marked by birth, death and marriage, the inhabitants of Oberon must all come to terms with what's really important to each of them—important enough to die for. Only one thing is certain; when the winds of change finally stop blowing nothing, and no one, will be the same.
