I took this shot while touring Alcazaba, an Al-Andalus fortress, in Malaga, Spain. There is something timeless about it that calls to me.

What is your favourite time in history and why?

There is something thrilling about walking in places that have been inhabited for thousands of years. While there is a rich First Nations history in my area, there are very few artefacts (and almost no structures) remaining in the present day.

So, when we visit Europe, I am in awe of what is still existing after so many centuries. That buildings constructed by the Romans are still in use today completely blows my mind. And our recent trip to Spain layered Roman history with that of the Al-Andalus, when Muslim rulers controlled almost all of the Iberian Peninsula.

This is a long-winded way of saying I don’t really have a favourite time in history. I love it all! Though if I had to pick one because of the clothing, I would hands down pick the Regency era. I love the high-waisted gowns, the gloves, and the hats. Especially the hats!
