This week on the blog hop, we’ve been asked:

Do you write chronologically from the start of the book to the end, or do you write scenes and then piece them together?

I am a strictly start to finish writer! I used to plot out pretty much every scene and bull my way through. I’m a little more flexible now, but the idea of writing disjointed scenes and then figuring out how they fit together makes me break out in hives.

That being said, I have, on the very odd occasion, jumped over a scene that I know needs to be written but that I don’t quite have a handle on yet. To me, that’s not really writing out of order. It’s more procrastinating until I have the courage to tackle the tough writing.

One of these days, though, maybe I should break out of my comfort zone and try writing something out of order. Who knows? Maybe it will light different creative sparks!

Now hop over to PG Forte to find out if she writes the good stuff first.
