In romance, scent if often used to signify attraction between the couple. Think of someone you like. Can you describe how they smell? Do they wear a specific cologne or perfume that instantly sets you at ease? Or does what they do for a job carry a certain aroma that brings a pleasant image? These are the sorts of things I like to mention in my writing. Some of my favourite scents are cilantro, chlorine, and sandalwood. And of course new baby. I can sniff a newborn’s head for hours. 😊 What about you? Share you favourite scents below. Then hop over to Jill Haymaker and read what she has to say about scent!

Another game great for four players is Ding. You are dealt five cards and the trump changes every hand. You must take a least one trick to not be bumped back to the starting score of 21. It's a lot of fun but can be very cutthroat! We don’t play a lot of board games, but as our grandchildren get older, we have pulled out Snakes and Ladders, Trouble, and Sorry. They are a little young still, but it’s never too soon to get them excited about playing games! What about your family? What do you like to play? When it comes to craft, you never stop learning. And I don’t mean only taking classes, which I do when I can. I mean learning by doing, by sitting in the chair and typing the words and listening to my gut. I don't always know how to fix things right away, but I trust myself enough as a writer to know I’ll be able to figure it out sometime and not to angst over it. I’ve also learned not to put pressure on myself. I’ve chosen a route that may not result in enormous success or huge profits. But I love what I do and am proud to write the stories I am meant to, not the stories I’ve been told I should write. Everyone’s author journey is different. The one food I would really miss is eggs. I love them in all their states, and when you think how many recipes include them - what if you could never make those again? Wow – that’s a lot of deliciousness missing from my world. How about you? What food would you miss if you could never eat it again? Let me know below, then hop over to Jill Haymaker and see what she chose.
Along the way, though, I plan to release box sets of both my completed series. “Taking His Measure: The complete Bendixon Sisters Series” may come out as early at next month, while I plan to launch the box set of the Silverberry Seduction Series this fall. So don’t worry – you’ll still be hearing from me this year! PG Forte has a special release coming next week, so you know she’s on the job. Hop over to her blog to see what else she has planned for 2024!
I loved it as soon as I saw it. In 2024, I want to focus on more JOY, more EXPLORATION, more APPRECIATION, more GRATITUDE. And as Ev explained, it could be more of LESS as well. Simplifying our lives, decluttering our homes…these might seem like less, but are really giving us more. More time to do what fills our souls, more space to thrive. In my author business, I see MORE pointing toward more LEARNING, more GROWING, more CHALLENGES. More SUCCESS (both on the monetary side and the craft side). So that’s my word for the year. MORE. What’s yours? Share below, then hop over to Jill Haymaker to see what she chose. Happy New Year!
