What to do? What to do?  -  Romance Writers Weekly  -  #lovechatwrite

Leslie Hachtel has set us quite the challenge this week on the Romance Writers Weekly Blog Hop. She says:

Name five fun things to do while staying at home.

If you joined me from Clair Brett, welcome!

I have a sneaking suspicion that if we had done this exact topic in 2019, our lists might be completely different. But since it is 2020 and we are spending a lot of time at home those days, here’s my slightly tongue-in-cheek list of things to do while staying at home.
  1. Clean the kitchen junk drawer. We all have one, I’m sure. That drawer that fills up with things we don’t know where to put, but can’t quite throwaway. You know what I mean – the plastic card holders from the flower bouquet you were given in 2009, or all the elastic bands from every bundle of broccoli you’ve ever bought. It’s like an archeological dig!
  2. Partner all the lonely socks. What can be more satisfying than pairing two long lost souls (or should I saw, “soles…”)
  3. Play Monopoly. I don’t care what anyone says – this is the best game to cause trouble and strife in any family, and who doesn’t need a little drama right now?
  4. Make stuffed animals. Don’t have filling? Start collecting dust bunnies and comb your cat or dog. You’ll have more than you need in no time!
  5. Just BE. Here’s a thought. Don’t feel like you need to fill every second of your time. I know people feel like they’re “wasting” this time by not bettering themselves or finishing those projects that have been on the To Do List for years. It’s okay to simply get through the day supporting those that need you, whether virtually or in person. It’s okay to just BE.
Now, hop over to Caro Kinkead for her list of fun things to do! And while your there, be sure to check out her new book!

Spinster and poor relation Dorothea Hindley is in London for one reason: to help launch her cousin into society, something that would be a great deal easier if Dorothea’s aunt hadn’t revived a long-standing feud with the mother of a viscount. In trying to keep her family from becoming the laughingstocks of London, Dorothea finds a surprising ally in the son of her aunt’s rival.

Marrying a viscount never entered Dorothea’s head. But a moonlit kiss could lead to a scandal neither of them can afford. Can the accidental viscountess and her unexpected husband get their families to stop feuding long enough to save both the monarchy and their marriage?
