If you could live in another country, which one would you choose and why?

I don’t think I could ever permanently move away from Canada. We have our problems, but it is home. That being said, I have always wanted to live in another country for an extended period of time—long enough to feel like a resident, not a tourist.

There are so many places it would be exciting to live, but if I have to narrow it down to one I think I would choose the south of France. We spent a week near Avignon in 2017 and I fell in love with the area. Roman amphitheatres still in use, sparkling rivers, walled villages, castles on every corner…and still all the modern amenities to hand. I don’t speak French, but I am familiar enough with it that I think I could bumble along until I’d been immersed long enough to give it a try.
